I'm back!  I have had a really hard time with my running lately.  I am hoping that watching the trials this week end will help me get my mojo back.  I think the hardest part for me is that running has lost all it's fun.  I am going to try and get it back.  The race I have next weekend I am going to go back to where it all started.  I am going to run it very slowly with my sisters.  If that is not fun I am not sure what I am going to do.  I just need to want to run again.  It is to the point that the other day I wanted to clean my house more than run!  Now I have a clean house but I can't make it 6 miles without dieing.

If you have my cell number and I don't post please call me and ask how my run went I need to be held accountable.

On a different note.  I am sitting in my hotel in Houston.  I Googled my son's address and it is one mile away from here!  Really it is right around the corner!  Talk about tempting!!!!.  I drove by his apartment last night but only after my husband convinced me that even if he saw us he wouldn't know it was us because we are in a rental car.  It is kind of fun to see the places that he goes everyday.  I love that he is so dedicated and that he already loves these people so much.  I want to break into his apartment, clean it and fill the refrigerator but I think that would totally be against the rule.  I am sure he has forgotten that we were coming to Houston for the trials or at least he doesn't know the trials are this week.  James wants to send him photos of us at the Asian market but I think it might make him sad to know that we were that close.  Anyway I have rambled on enough

Welcome back! I think you will find your groove again.

I understand the burnout. Oddly enough, that is part of the reason I signed up for the Slam..... and now I've signed up for the Wahsatch Steeplechase. Next year I may just run trails.

Enjoy the trails! I take it you are not supposed to see or communicate with your son. This is something I don't fully understand. There are many others. C'est la vie. I'm with James, send him a photo or a small album.

Oh Kathie ~ I would go totally crazy being SO CLOSE to Elder Phillips and not able to see him. Dang! If I were there with you, I could totally break into his apartment and do all that stuff for you! That would not be against the rule. They'll just think it's a crazy old Chinese lady stalking two nice American missionaries!

So, seriously, he doesn't know you and James are there? I know the Asian Market you're talking about. I'd go there every time I'm in Houston! I'd say take pictures for sure and may be wait until he is home to show him the album ...unless he found out somehow you're already there. O man! :)

Have a ton of fun watching the Trials! I LOVED it 4 years ago watching the Women Trial at Boston. This is going to be so much more exciting with both men and women racing the Trial. I'm sure you will get your mojo back. So, you'll be doing the SG Half with your sisters? That should be a TON of FUN!!! I hope I see you there! I've missed you on the blog! WELCOME BACK!!!! :) :) :) :)

Welcome back, Kathie! I know exactly what you mean about losing some of the "gojo", not running, and not even missing it. Eventually, it comes back around. I start to miss the running with my buddies. I'd rather clean the house than run alone, but when friends are waiting for me, I never regret the effort to get my butt out of bed and go run with them -- and hear about what's been going on in their lives. My closest friends are those I run with...

I can't wait to see you (and James) this weekend. I'll give you a call when I get to town tomorrow afternoon sometime. I'm staying with a friend John on Friday night at the Hyatt Regency -- then another friend, Dave will join us Saturday night. I plan to take lots of pictures at the Trials -- can't wait to see Ryan, Meg, Cara, and Deena.

It is so great to hear from you again Kathie. I hope you and James have a great weekend. Seeing the trials is going to be a way cool experience. I remember watching the women's trials in Boston last time. The elites are amazing. Seeing them will help motivate you a little.
