Legs felt really heavy today.  Ran four mile to the rec. center met up with running group.  Ran the 5k route and the ran four miles home.  I have not looked at my splits yet but I know they will be slow.  I think the spin class on Thursday really took more out of me than I thought.

splits:

Miles too rec. center 9:03, 9:19, 9:12, 8:52,

5k miles 8:19, 9:16, 9:10

Miles home 10:40, I don't know this mile turned off Garmin at light and forgot to turn it back on, 10:18, 9:02,

Those splits weren't bad at all consider the "winning" spin class workout you did yesterday. Wasn't that a hilly run too? Good job.

Nice Kathie!!

Do you and Andy run to the same rec center and join up with the same running group? How cool is that!

From Andy on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 11:06:06

It was good to see you today (yes Teena it is the same rec center and running group). There must have been something about the morning because I struggled on the course too. At least the Utes won so the day wasn't a total loss. I have my Garmin set on auto pause so it automatically stops when I have to wait at stop lights.

I see you ran the course. Seems to me someone is trying to get an advantage for Thurs. race. You will do anything to win!!!!!

Nice job on the run. So, when are you going to give me the scoop on the course?

From Andy on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 13:39:00

I don't want to get caught in the middle of a sibling rivalry but I mapped the course on the course tool last year. After you sign in click on the "Course Tool" link. Search for "South Davis Rec Center Turkey Trot 5K". They moved the start and finish line a little bit to make the course the right distance but other than that it is pretty accurate. The first mile is a slight downhill followed by almost 2 miles of slight uphill. The last 1/4 mile is slightly downhill.

Kathie, I your heavy legs seem to be contagious, I caught them this morning when I ran. But hey there are a lot worse things than running with heavy legs.

I'll have to check out Andy's post of the course. Thanks.

Nice run Kathie even on heavy legs. You know you are tough when you can make it through those runs that don't come easy.

From Rhett on Mon, Nov 24, 2008 at 15:16:22

Looks like you ran some pretty even splits over your 10+ mile run. Good job!

I hear your not feeling well Kathie sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to hearing about your 5k with Kimmy. If it is worth anything. I ran that last wheeler farm 5k after feeling sick for 2 days before. And did good at it. Not a PR but still had a good race. Hope you start feeling better.

From Smooth on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 22:16:21

Kathie, sorry to hear you're under the weather. Rest up, drink plenty of fluids. Get well soon. Have a great Thanksgiving with your family and sisters.

From Teena on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 00:45:31

So sorry that you aren't feeling well!! I hate this whole winter thing!! Let's all move someplace where it is 65-70 degrees during the day, and 55 degrees in the morning all year round!!

Get feeling better.
