Ok I had somthing weird happen to me at the gym today.  I ate breakfast and went to the gym.  I started to run and I suddenly got VERY hungry not that oh I could eat hungry but the fast Sunday hungry.  I was looking for used gum hungry (not really that is gross!) Anyway I finished my run but it was much slower. I did 1.5 miles at 9:13 and then had to do the last 1.5 at 10:00.  In my gym bag I had ten raw almonds I ate them and lifted for my arms.  When I was going into spin I still felt hungry started class and about half way through the feeling went away.  Weird right!  Have any of you had this happen?

Kathie...

You are so funny. Yeah, that happens to me all the time. Sometimes the hunger doesn't go away, so by the time I'm done running I have to rummage through the fridge for something quick.

I run hungry all the time, but it always seems that just as I'm getting to within a few minutes of home, the hunger goes away, at least for 10 minutes, then it's back to my ravenous self!

I am like that alot actually too. And I will eat like a pig for say. It mostly happens after running like what I just did. Running Wen night and then Thurs morning. I would finish my run and be like feed me. I would be able to eat a beto's burrito and my normal 3 meals at work and still be starving. Like I just couldnt eat enough. What was really telling me was when I would get on the scale and notice that I would be down 5-8 pounds. That is what the problem was. I was just really dehydrated. So what I have done the last few times. Which worked great again for me today. Was make sure to drink alot of water after my run last night. And again this morning. Just make sure to fill up on water more. And the urges to feed like a wild animal was alot better. Not sure if that is what your experienced today. Just that your body is needing something and your thinking it is food when it is need water more. Also something you can check out is your weight before and after workouts to see how much your losing water wise. It really helps to know what your really losing and if your getting enough in.

I have had this happen to me......It is usually when run...then I am hungry. Then I eat three crackers and I'm fine.

LOL I wish 3 crackers would do for me. I would maybe be good after half a box.

From DonGardinero on Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 14:13:39

Oh man, I wish I could fill up on 3 crackers and be fine. I'm like Mark, after a run I get really hungry all day long and I eat like there's no tomorrow. Immediately after I finished St. George, My wife took me to A Burger Kind drive thru and I ate a fish sandwich. Then a half hour later I was starving again so we went to the Golden Corral where I at a plate of spaghetti, some mac & cheese, slice of pizza, two slices of prime rib, two slices of turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy and to top it off a nice slice of carrot cake. Then, 3 hours later I went to Mongolian BBQ and had a huge bowl of noodles with beef and chicken. Whew.

Kathie,

I know that feeling. Did your stomach growl loud enough for those by you to hear it?? It doesn't happen to me a lot, but when it does I start asking people if they have any food to spare (just teasing). If it's zapping your energy you definitely should be eating more!!

Btw ... amazing workout ... AGAIN!! :)

Sometimes I feel very hungry in the morning before a run but when I get done I don't feel as hungry.....until about 30 minutes later when it's time to strap on the feed bag, then I go to town on the granola!
