four easy miles 9:13.  While on the treadmill I noticed that our gym has a rowing machine.  I has not noticed it before but then again I am not very observant! Any way I was bored on the treadmill so I thought I would give it a go for ten minutes before I lifted weights.  I loved it!  It really worked the back of my legs and my back itself.  Has anyone used a rowing machine in training?  Will it help my running?  I think I may add it in more often just because it was a change.

Sounds like a nice discovery to work different muscles! I would think that anything that helps strengthen your back and the big hamstring would help with running! NICE workouts!

We drove our 20 miler route this morning, not to measure the distance as Karen already did it on

Tue. But to find an alternate road that will take us north thru Cedar Hills. I think you will like the route, lots of farm country that will resemble the small towns from Hopkinton to Newtons! and a shorter version of Heartbreak hill at mile 17!

I'm so excited! See you bright and early.

Kathie, sure a rowing machine is great cross training. Be careful doing new work outs so close to a big race though.

Kathie, how's your ankle feeling? Smooth mentioned in her Saturday blog that you had sprained it. I hope it's nothing serious.

Same question as Rhett's!

I got to thinking when you said your back hurt right before you left my house. I wonder if the rowing machine workout the day before contributed to the backache!

I hope you are fully recovered and that the ankle is OK!

THANKS again SO MUCH for driving such a long distance to run with me. And Kimmy too, it was so good to see her and run a little bit with her! I have missed her so much! :)
