13 miles, the route I ran is mostly down hill for 6.5 miles and then up hill for 6.5 with a huge hill right at the end.  The goals for this run were: 1) finish in good enough shape to do speed work on Monday. 2) finish in under 2 hours and 3) fuel well during the run.

To accomplish goal one I wanted to keep most of my miles around a 9:13 pace but if I felt great on the down hill I could speed up.  That way I could accomplish goal two.  Finally to accomplish goal three I walked and ate one power bar chew and drank, every two miles after three mile.  Just like aid stations.  This is why the even miles are a little slower than the odd.  I have found that this keeps me fueled up without giving me a tummy ache.

I did it I made all my goals!!!

Splits: 9:02, 8:46, 8:37, 8:46, 8:42, 9:00, 9:06, (starting to go up hill now) 9:14, 8:28, 9:31, 9:05, 9:37, 11:17 (walked most of the big hill)

Great run. You must have been out early to get that many miles in already.
