Meet up with SDRR.  I decided to run without  looking at my watch today like Rhett did last week.  The whole run felt really great.  I have to admit I accidentally looked at my watch one time when I was going up hill and it read 9:28.  I thought for sure I had slipped back into my comfortable 9:30 pace.  I was really surprised too see my splits when I got home.

Splits 8:47, 8:25, 8:38, 8:47, 9:16 (2 big hills), 8:23, 8:49, 8:43

I am not sure why the run felt so good.  Some possible reasons are:

1- I didn't thrash my legs as much on the elliptical yesterday so they were fresher.

2- I had to take Motrin before the run because of a knot it my back (due to bad push-up form)

3 - I am actually getting faster!

I hope it is the last one...time will tell!

Awesome run, Kathie...I think you're getting faster with all the leg work you're doing.

It's most likely number 3. You've been training very consistently for a long enough time that you will start to see jumps in your fitness.

You are getting faster.

You are definitely faster and running is more fun when your not watching your watch all the time.

Keep it up. Your progress is steady.

It's definitely #3. Nice run, Kathie.

Yes, it's #3. You're training consistently and smart. I might have to try this no watch thing. I forgot mine on a long run once; but Kelli had hers and it was the funnest 18 miler.
