3 easy miles I have fasted for 3 of the last 5 days and it is starting to catch up to me. I have a hard work out planned tomorrow not sure how it will go.
Push -up have fallen by the wayside I will pick them up when life is more normal sorry to start something and then drop it but I have way too much on my plate right now.
Treadmill 1% incline .5 @ 9:13 2.5 @ 8:30 I felt really good I could tell that the nutrition has been lacking but never felt like It was too hard. I may need to up my speed for Ogden training.
6 miles elliptical 12% resistance I did the first 3 at 12 % and then the voice of MarcE kept coming in my head telling me to take it easy today so I lowered the resistance to 6% and finished the last three 47:00 total time.

We arrived late Friday night and went right to the captains
meeting. When we got there we found out
that there would only be 38 teams running the race.We also found out that there was a required
pace to make the exchanges. Each runner
had to run under a 12 minute mile or the exchange would close.Cristy was having a problem with her calf and
was actually concerned that she might not make it.I was sure she could as long as she stayed
healthy.
When we got to the start everyone looked really fast and we
were sure we would come in last.So that
was the goal right there….Not to come in last!
Cristy ran her leg and finished 34th, Kim then passed 3 and
I passed 1 on my leg.The hags had now run
and it was time for the stags to show us what they could do.Nick, my son, ran next and thought he passed
7 runners but was not sure because there were everyday joggers on the
path. Then Paul the other stag made his
move and when he finished we were in 14th place.Yes you read that right, the boy were smoke’n
fast!Cristy went again and held on but
was passed by two speedsters; Kim ran her leg and held her own. Then it was my turn.I could tell there was a runner behind me; I
could hear her team cheering for her.I held
her off until the last really, and I mean really big hill. She passed me with in a quarter mile of the
hand off.I went up and asked her if she
had got the memo that you couldn’t pass on a hill. Her face drop and it was obvious she didn’t
know I was kidding.I told her I was
just joking and she said she was not sure because there were so many rules.
Nick took off and quickly passed the team that passed me and
then set a goal to pass one more.I have
never been as proud as when I watch him run.He went down one hill in three beautiful strides. As Nick came into the exchange there was one
runner ahead of him I told him to take him so he could have the kill not Paul…
he did he passed the dude on a hill! I could
brag about my son all day but then you would stop reading and never know how we
did so I will move on.
Paul then started out on his leg.The runner in front of him had a huge lead
and we thought for sure he couldn’t pass her in just four miles. He did!Amazing!!! We came in 15th over
all and 6th in our division. We also won
best team name!It was a really fun race
and we want to do it again next year however I don’t think we will do as well,
the stags want to form there own team and call it hag less… or hag free!
6 miles on the elliptical. I did the first 3 at 12% resistance but my form seems way off I know I was going to try to do 12% this whole year, but I really think it is hurting more than helping. I went back to 11% and I think I will continue that way the rest of the year.
Three easy miles. I thrashed my legs when I lifted yesterday, the easy day felt really good and needed.
Restarted the push-up challenge last night. I did week 3 day 1 Column 3 with a max of 25. I was really surprised how much I lost after just two weeks off.
Spin class - teacher had to tell us today was a "race" day. I can barely walk!!! Wednesdays are always hard but this was killer. Worked a lot harder that the 3.1 miles the blog shows.
6 miles elliptical 11% resistance 44:38 - I am really glad that I stopped trying to do this at 12% resistance my form is much better and I can work on speed as well as strength.
Lifted for legs
Yoga - today in yoga we did 108 half sun salutations. I tried to find a video to show what that is but I couldn't (I should ask Rivertonpaul to find it I am sure he could) I will try and describe it as best I can. Start in down dog, move to plank, chaturanga, cobra and then back to down dog. I hope that makes it all clear. Anyway I am not sure how the push-up challenge will go tonight being as my arms already feel like they are going to fall off.
Ran 7 with the SDRR I ran the first 3.3 to the meeting place. When I got there a new runner only wanted to run three miles and was not sure where to turn around so I ran the next 1.5 with her at a slower pace and then ran the final 3.2 to my house. That is why the splits are so weird. Legs felt good even though I thrashed them last week so I think I will thrash them again this week!
Splits 8:53, 8:47, 8:49, 10:04, 9:54, 8:51, 8:43,
Tried to do push-ups last night and I could only do the first set. I think the sun salutations were enough of a work out and I called it good. Well see if they helped when I go to week four on Monday.
6 miles elliptical 11% resistance. I had to use a different type of machine today and I am not sure that it was as good of a workout. I had to go faster and barely got the 6 miles in at 49:11 but the resistance was not as hard.
Meet up with SDRR. I decided to run without looking at my watch today like Rhett did last week. The whole run felt really great. I have to admit I accidentally looked at my watch one time when I was going up hill and it read 9:28. I thought for sure I had slipped back into my comfortable 9:30 pace. I was really surprised too see my splits when I got home.
One week before the wedding. I couldn't bring myself to do anything! That is the one bad thing about running, you really think a lot while you do it. If you are in a state of mind where you don't want to think about what is going on, it is really hard to run. I sat around the whole day and watched really lame t.v shows. At least I didn't have to think about anything.
