3.5 on the treadmill at the gym 1% incline 9:13 pace
When to a lifting class after...you have to pay extra to go to this class so I have not gone before. It was totally not worth it. The teacher must teach the same class over and over. I did get a semi good work out in the hour class but I could have done the samething on my own in 20 minutes. There is another class offered by a new personal trainer tonight I am going to that too, I hope it is better.
I guess the workout yesterday was much harder than I thought. I skipped the second lifting class but I could hardly move this morning, hams, gluts and quads were on FIRE! I wanted to run 1 mile at 9:13 and then 3 miles at 8:20 (my new half marathon pace) I got on the treadmill and did the first mile at 9:13 and it hurt. Did the second mile at 8:20 thought I was going to die. .75 miles at 9:13 and then .25 at 8:00 and I was done.
Lifted for legs (I know crazy but that was what was on the schedule)
Spin
So here is my question. I want to do two workouts for the whole month of December but I don't want to have the second work out take away from the main running workout, or do I? If I lift that hard during December and my running suffers because of it will my running suffer more than the weight lifting will add?
PM - went to the new trainer not really happy with that class either. I think I will just do push-ups and Sit-up etc. on my own as my extra work out.
5.5 miles I wanted to do more but hubby said I had to go to the ward breakfast. What are your feelings on attending church activities? My husband thinks we should support them all, I think we should go to the ones that pertain to our callings but not all of them, especially if you have a run to do. :)
8X400 meters at 7:24 This was really hard and I had to bump the last to down to 7:30 half way into them. On the sixth one I found out that fish oil pills taste even worse the second time around!
Six miles elliptical 11% resistance in 40:43, really hard but it is fun getting faster. Last year on this date I did this workout in 42:XX.
Lifted for legs I didn't get to do all that I wanted to, a neighbor wanted to talk and I couldn't find a way to tell him I really wanted to workout
Yoga - really fun class with all kinds of funky poses, side plank was one but the best was boat pose and then we did a backward roll into camel pose. The first photo is side plank, the second is boat and the third is camel. Believe me I looked nothing like the photos but it was fun to try...the best part was the backward roll I have not done one of those in years
Really wanted to do 12 today but the conditions were not good at all.
It was my own fault I should have known better. I went to the legacy
parkway trail, it was very snowy but I was happy to see Andy's car there.
I was going to follow his footsteps in the snow. After I got on the trail
I realized that Andy had not run this way for a very good reason. It was
way too slippery I couldn't do anything but concentrate on not falling.
Rather than 6 miles I only got 4. Met up with the running group, my left glute
was bugging me ran four more on the road and called it good.
After the run we all went to Paradise Bakery and Julie the winner of the St.
George marathon talked to us. It was so informative. I am so glad I
went.
SAD SAD splits: 11:15, 12:10, 12:00, 11:29, 9:52, 9:45, 9:37, 9:45
Now I need to go help my daughter get ready for her first dance...boys are
so much easier, and cheaper too!
Pretty much a repeat of yesterday today should have been 4 miles race pace, and yesterday was 40 minute tempo run but because I am training for a half my tempo speed and race speed are the same. 1% incline one mile warm up 3.5 miles at 8:20 .5 miles at 8:34 one mile cool down
Lifted for legs
Spin - I know I climbed up Everest today on my spin bike HOLY SORE BOTTOM!!!!!! (Batman)
4 easy mile first mile 1% incline last 3 3% decline 3.5 at 9:13 last .5 at 8:20. I had not run decline at all after October and I could tell. My form was all over the place for the first mile then I finally remembered what was correct and it felt so much better.
It was really foggy today I even got lost! wanted to do more miles again this week but couldn't fit them in. I guess I am going to need to either get up earlier or run faster!
4 easy miles. I wanted to do 9X400 meters @ 8.1 speed on the treadmill but after the mile warm up I knew I was still too sick. I am not sure if I should just skip this work out or try to get it in either tomorrow or Friday.
Ran 7 on my own and then 4.5 with the group. Andy was recovering from his Marathon yesterday and so he ran with me, which was fun. I just wish he didn't talk so much! :)
Went to the gym and it was full! Really there was not a place to even park. Went home and did 6 easy miles on my old treadmill. Speed work will have to wait until tomorrow.
1 mile at 9:13 4 miles at 8:27 and the .25 cool down. Miles seemed hard but in a good way wanted to cool down longer but the steel cut oats I had for dinner couldn't wait...I know TMI
PM - 2.75 slow miles in bare feet I am not sure I could do much more than three. My feet and shins were tired at the end. I think I will slowly try to work up to more.
1% incline .5 mile warm up 3 miles at 8:34 this seemed hard I should have done 5 at this pace but couldn't keep it up last 1.5 miles varied in speed mostly at 8:34 but there were also a lot of slow walking breaks in there.
