Six miles the first two were at 9:13 (6.5) the second two were 9:05 (6.6) and the last two were all over the place because yet again I got bored, mostly 8:30 - 8:00 (7.0-7.5)

Lifted for arms

On Monday I am going to start a new program and wanted to "challenge" anyone to do it with me.  It is a six week program and at the end of the six week you should be able to do 100 push-ups in a row.  You can find the program at:

http://www.hundredpushups.com/index.html

I am going to do girl push-up for two reasons the first being that I am a girl and the second is that I really don't want to get bulky man arms (just really sexy girl arms!) Anyway let me know if you are in.  I am going to post my progress Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays.

Oh no! Don't tell Teena or we all might be doing another contest. 100 pushups in a row is a lot! I once set out to be able to do that and worked and worked and worked at it and only made it to 80. Now I probably couldn't do more than 30 or 40.

Nice run today.

Count me in. This should be fun. My kids got me the Perfect Pushup for Christmas. I doubt that I'll ever be able to do 100 in a row, but I'll give it a shot. I tried a few weeks ago and I was only able to do 10 before I started to struggle.

From JeffC on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 14:48:25

I think they are called "alternative" push-ups Kathie. :) We did a lot of push ups on my mission but I never got to 100 in a row, maybe 60. I think I am going to give this a try though, sounds like something I need cause I don't do much cross training. Thanks for the link. I may start on Monday as well.

Another contest??!! What's wrong with you crazy runners? Pullups! chinups! pushups! You and Teena sure are some soupahdee-UP-ahdee girls. OK, I'll have to check out that link and see if my wimpy arms are up for it.

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 16:21:34

OH!!! I posted that a while back. We had a few takers, but then we just kind of forgot what we were doing!! GOOD LUCK.

I do, by the way, agree that girls should to girl push ups. I do as many guy push ups as I can and then I drop to my knees when i can not take it anymore. Here is to you and sexy arms.

Love the picture, BTW. You do not look like you could be old enough to be married for 22 years. Did you by chance get married when you were 12?

From Kathie on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 17:20:56

Kelli - You are my new best friend! actually I got married late by Utah standards and had children even later. Most my friends have 25 year olds and my oldest is 18

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 17:26:28

Kelli,

Kathie DOES look like she's her daughter's sister. When her 18 year old goes on mission, they're gonna think she's his girlfriend. I tell ya. She is one bootie-kicikin-BEAUTY!!!

From Kathie on Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 18:36:31

Thanks Smooth I'm blushing!

From Teena on Wed, Jan 28, 2009 at 09:51:12

Kathie,

Haven't really looked at the program yet, but how could I ever back down from a challenge? I'm in!!

Will probably do what Kelli did or mix it up and do 10 standard pushups, 10 alternative pushups, 10 standard, etc.

Very sweet!!

So, we are all starting on Monday, right?

From huans32 on Wed, Jan 28, 2009 at 18:20:53

K I didnt do the pull-up challenge due to not being around to work out. Push ups on the other hand I can do anywhere. I am in. I have been doing some incline push-ups to help relax my back. So is it to just doing normal push ups right??
