The weather was really great today.  I woke up and for some reason I felt fast.  I took advantage of it and ran race pace.  Even my hill mile was marathon pace.  I just wish I would have save this great day for Saturday.  Maybe I will feel this great on Saturday.

One of the reasons I think I feel so good is I have cut refined sugar out of my diet.  I have slipped up and had a few chocolate cover cinnamon bears but for the most part I have really tried to eat good "fuel".  I plan on keeping it up until St. George where hopefully I am celebrating my BQ with Blue Bunny ice cream

splits: 8:44, 8:36, 8:18, 8:44 (hill 400) 8:24, 8:15

Wow, that's quite an ambitious endeavor to remove ALL refined sugars from your diet, be sure to read those labels. GOOD LUCK with your goal!!

Great job on the run speedy. Those are some great splits and that hill had nothing on you today. Your looking strong for your race this weekend. And I am sure your goal of cutting out the refined sugar will really help you tons.

Maybe I need to cut refined sugar from my diet...does that mean I have to give up my DP? Nice job Kathie...I am getting the feeling I am going to be hurting after Hobblecreek....BRING ON THE PAIN

WOW! What an AWESOME 10K and that uphill was IMPRESSIVE!!! You're running so fast and so strong! You will do GREAT at Hobble Creek. I need to follow your example in cutting out refined sugar. I've been eating too much junk with guests staying at my house, church parties...not to mention the candy bars hubby brings home. Ok, we are going to eat good fuel from now till SGM. Your AWESOME run puts a smile on my face!

Very nice Kathie. Last year when I cut refined sugar from my diet building up to Boston, I felt the best I ever have. I think I will do that again this year, but not until Jan.

What an INCREDIBLE run!!!

Just thinking about cutting refined sugar out of my diet makes me sad! I eat far too much of it though ... maybe I will give it a go one of these days.

Seriously Kathie ... what an awesome day you had!!! It'll be there on Saturday as well!! :)

Are you still feeling fast today, Kathie?

From MarcE on Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 13:46:13 from 24.155.140.8

Does high fructose corn syrup count as refined sugar? I hope not..there's no way I could do it!!! I wish you the best.
