Lifted for legs

Spin - Very hard class, she had us stay at 80% effort for 40 minutes and every twenty minutes we had to go to 100% effort.  The hardest part was after the first 100% effort only backing down to 80%.

That sounds nuts!!!

You are just diehard enough to do it though!!!!

Nice job, Kathie.

AWESOME TM run! That spin class sounds brutal! All these talks about gym classes really scares me!

You're an AWESOME gym-granny!

Way to go gym granny!

Well done!

Are you planning on using an 18 week training plan for Boston?

From Kathie on Wed, Nov 04, 2009 at 20:04:22 from 63.248.105.188

Fly - I think I will use a modified 18 week Hal Higdon plan that I used for St. George this year. My problem is that I want Ogden to be my goal race so I can BQ there with Kimmy. I am just not sure how do adjust my training so that I am ready to run Boston but peak for Ogden.

Kathie - just taper after Boston and you can PR it.

Love those hard burn days with spin...what's your cadence?

(P.S. What tri are you training for - hint, hint) - Triathlons are the best!

From DonGardinero on Wed, Nov 04, 2009 at 23:00:35 from 152.216.7.5

Kathie, just treat Boston as a fun, fun long run and then give it all you got at Ogden. That's what I did for TOU. Although, I should have teken it even more easy at TOU because I was feeling it at St. George.

Sounds like a fun spin class!

Just catching up on a few blogs..so, you're going to Boston?! That's great. Are you bringing your mom and sisters for a girls weekend out? I like your plan for peaking at Ogden with Kimmy. Lots of people run Boston as a "victory lap". Enjoy it!

Wow awesome workout day Kathie. Look at you go.:)

I think a month between the two is enough time to recover but I'm not sure it is enough time if you run Boston hard and want to peak for Ogden.

If you run Boston as a long training run you could then continue to train, taper, and peak at Ogden. But do you want to run Boston as a long training run? Can you run Boston as a long training run?

I think running Boston easy might be hard. There will be 25,000 fast and enthusiastic runners around you and a gazillion cheering fans encouraging you to forget your pacing plan and throw caution to the wind.... Oh you're sure to have a blast how ever you run it! :)
