Went for a walk with my honey and grandson 1.25 miles into the walk my grandson rubbed his eye with a hand that I had just put sun screen on.  His eye turned red and he started to cry.  We had nothing to help him out my husband tried to wipe it out with his T-shirt and that seemed to help a little but he kept crying so I turned around and started running home.  As soon as I started running he stopped crying but I kept running so I could get him home.  When I got home my leg didn't hurt at all. So I did something that may prove to be very dumb, but because I hate to go to the doctor so much and my leg was feeling fine I called and canceled my doctors appointment.  I think it is just shin splints and all the rest I have been giving it has really helped.  I am going to try and run three miles tomorrow and see how it goes.

If it is just shin splints my next question is where do I go from here.  Clearly I can't follow my old training schedule so what do I do?

Ran 4.5 miles at 9:13 leg felt very good.  I was afraid that this run would not go as well as it did pain wise.  Really my leg just felt tight the whole run with very little pain.  However I can really tell that I have taken three weeks off.  I felt like I was going to die.  It was just like when I first started running in 2005. I think I will try and run 10 miles tomorrow but I will stay close to home in case anything goes wrong.

Lifted for legs - did 4 minutes of walking lunged and squats.  Then I did my regular leg routine.

Yoga

Very easy and slow miles really wanted to make 10 but at 6 my leg started to hurt again.  It was not too bad but I think I am gun shy now and afraid to run with any pain.
