Four easy miles although they hurt really bad.  I am now having a hard time going up stairs.  I ran on Monday after St. George last year.  I am not sure why my legs are still sore when I ran so slow this year.  Any ideas?

Did you sit in a hot tub the night of the marathon? I hear that can do a number on your muscles. It seems like an enjoyable thing to do at the time, but I hear it makes things worse. Just an idea. Sorry you are still feeling it.

No hot tub for me...I used some ice right after, basically the same things I always do.

Did you do any active recovery this week after the marathon?

How about Thai food? Did you eat any Thai food? Or something with a lot of curry in it?

How are you feeling today? My first run after a marathon is always very sore. I'd do some foam rolling and stretching after the run and eventually the soreness are gone! Are you doing some xtrain to actively recover? How about a massage? Hope you're feeling better!

I have been more sore this year than in the past. I wonder if the hotter temperatures caused us to dehydrate more than other marathons which has caused additional soreness. Another thing to consider is that you ran less miles in the month leading up to marathon this year than you did last year.
