Ran from the hotel to the park, around the park three times and then back.  I guess because it is so humid, or maybe because of the salty air I needed to put body glide in places that I have never needed to before!  I am a little chafed but loved running in shorts today.

Splits: 9:00, 8:12, 9:15, 9:47 (saw hubby and walked with him for a sec.) 8:45, 9:22(walked with hubby again)

It is raining right now but "no rain no rainbows right!"

The plan for today was to do three easy miles and the hike Diamond Head for cross training.

I ran the first mile kind of fast so I could meet my husband after two miles and then walk the last mile with him.  (8:14)

Second mile marathon pace and it felt good (8:39)

At the end of this mile I see my husband across the street?  He should not be there, he should be farther along in his walk.  I cross the street to ask him what took so long and find that it is not my husband!  Right as I turn around on the other side of the street is a group of guys running into the park.  They have their shirts off and are swagering more than running.  These guys were just asking to be chicked!  I should have waited for hubby but you know me I couldn't.  Off I went and the chase was on.  I passed them just before I hit mile three (8:15) as I passed I thanked them for the chase and smiled Oh it felt so good but I couldn't slow down and I couldn't find my husband.  I had to hold this pace until I saw him.  I didn't get to hubby until the 3.78 mile mark and I walked with him at that point so mile four seem much slower than it really was (9:51)

.8 of the mile from the park to hotel (13.19)

So much for an easy three.

From the hotel around the park again.  I should add 10 miles for all the walking I did while shopping, found the cutest swimming suit for my Grandson!

splits: 9:11, 8:32, 9:00, 8:46, 10:57 (walk with hubby)

Shhhhhhh, this run is a secret.  I am still sick and my husband didn't want me to run.  I figured I didn't have a fever so I should give it a go.  He left to go out of town at 11:30 and I was running at 12:00.  I really felt good during the run and if I had brought my fuel belt I think I could have gone further.  I still have a sore throat and a cough but I don't feel as tired.

splits: 9:01, 8:56, 8:42, 8:52, 9:39, 9:48, 9:09, 9:32

Stink!!!!!

I felt so good yesterday after my run I thought today I would grab my fuel belt and run the 13 I should have on Saturday.  I started out ok but I hit the wall at 2.5 miles.  Yes you read right just 2.5 miles into the run I felt so weak that I could hardly move my legs.  I shuffled on until I finished 7 miles but I am almost ashamed to post the splits.

splits: 9:08, 8:53, 9:11, 12:44 (up hill the whole mile 400 North Orchard to Davis) 9:31, 9:49, 9:50

Finally a run I can feel good about.  I set out to run 16 today on a course that is very hilly with the hardest miles coming at the end.  I listed these as easy miles even though most of the miles were with in 15 seconds of my BQ pace and 30 seconds off my goal marathon pace.  I really felt comfortable during the whole run which after having so many bad runs this week really felt extra good.  I am most proud of miles 12-15 these are really hilly miles that have always slowed me down in the past.  at the beginning of mile 14 I started to slow down, then the song "steady as she goes" came on my ipod it gave me the boost I needed.

Splits: 9:32, 9:04, 9:10, 8:53, 9:12, 9:04, 9:19, 9:06, 9:12, 9:09, 9:11, 9:12, 8:54, 9:15, 9:22, 10:32 (walked up the big hill to my house)

The schedule called for 7 race pace miles.  I am still not sure what my race pace is, should it be 9:06 (BQ) 8:46 (Kims BQ) or 8:34 (goal pace maybe?)? I didn't quite know how to handle this run.  At first I was going to do it on the treadmill and run it at 8:34 but I know that I have a problem feeling what pace I am running and I should do it outside to get the feel of the pace.

I drove to LPT because it is a little flatter (or should that be more flat) anyway here are the splits

Splits: 8:37, 8:11, 8:15, 8:30, 8:33, 8:45, 8:32

As you can see they were all over the place and I never really knew what pace I was going.  It all just felt hard more like a tempo run than a race pace run.  Going off of these splits what do you think I should shoot for as my race pace for Ogden? (Boston I am going to just run for fun) And how do you guys that can run such even split get to know what you are running?  The 8:11 mile felt just like the 8:45 to me!

I am still feeling it in my shins.  I may need to ice them.

Had a great lunch with Smooth, Teena, Andy and I am so happy Paul crashed the party I think it saved Andy from another intervention!

12 fun miles with Kimmy, Smooth, Teena, Lucylu?, Kelli, Maynard and Crockett.  I should have gone farther but when Kim got hurt and decided to go home I went home too.

I was really sad to find out that Kim will not be running the Ogden marathon with me this year.  She has family obligations that day.  So if anyone out there is shooting for 3:50 and wants a running/training buddy let me know

Hubby was in town today for the first time in a long time.  I am not sure if I like his new promotion now.  I played hookie from running, blogging, and almost everything else to spend time with him.  Nothing fun just being in the same place at the same time is enough for me now days.

17 easy really fun miles with the Harem!  I met up with Smooth and ran 8 miles with her. They were really fun miles but the wind was so strong!  .5 miles into the run we made a potty stop and I forgot to turn my garmin back on.  So I will have look at Smooth's blog for the splits.  Teena then met up with us and the pace picked up a little.  At mile 12.5 my left leg that has been bothering me for a long time started to get really bad. Teena looked at it and showed me how to tape it. We headed back at a much slower pace I am sure they are never going to ask me to run with them again!  When we got to the cars we set up very clear rules about what we could and couldn't blog about, so I guess if you want to know all our deep dark secrets you will just have to run with us.
