5.5 miles I was suppose to do 7X400 meter repeats.  When I blogged about this run last year I wrote how I thought they felt easy.  This year it was not easy at all!!!!! I only did 6.5 repeats and the last 2.5 I took of the 1% incline.  I am so mad at my self, have let distractions of all kinds get in the way my of running.  I would still like to PR at Boston this year.  I am clearly not in as good of shape as I was last year at this time.  How do you guy think I should train for Boston now? I want to start training harder than I did last year but I am afraid if I start now being so out of shape I will just get injured.  Any advise will be welcome.

I have no advice for you because I don't even know how to properly train for a marathon. lol.

I'm sure someone will give you some answers.

This was just one run and you have over 20 weeks to retrain. Most training plans are "only" 18 weeks or less. You have plenty of time to get your groove back. Shouldn't you be building base and resting right now?

Have you been getting any sleep?

Kathie, I'm right there with you. At least you have been running all summer. I'm starting with base milage, not doing any speed work. I hope to get my weekly milage up to 60 by Jan 1 then, I'm going to start adding speed work, tempo runs, etc. Good luck with what ever you decide to do.
