The weather was great today, I can honestly say I didn't want this run to end.  If I did have a doctors appointment I think I would have been able to do the 22 miles I missed on Saturday.

As a side note I wore my ugly running outfit today, you know the one you have that is on the bottom of the rotation, that you only wear when EVERYTHING else is dirty.  Well I think I saw everyone of my running friend and even a few of my neighbors that I have never seen before...it did make me run fast though just so I wouldn't be running in it when the sun came up!

splits:8:38, 8:37, 8:22, 8:26, 8:57 (hill mile), 9:01 (hill mile), 8:44, 8:24,

Lifted for legs

Spin

I must not have been meant to run today, everything that could go wrong did today.  It all started out ok I even got to the gym right on time, but I soon discovered that I was missing my head phones, heart rate monitor and other needed "supplies".  So I headed home...my 6 mile run would now be 4 but I was ok with that.

As I drove in my drive way I noticed my daughters car was still park right were it was when I left for the gym...school had started 10 minutes ago!  We then had a nice talk about being on time even if Seminary is you first class.  This is going to be a never ending battle I am sure!

Well there went my run!

I had so much fun at this race!  Teena, Smooth and Larry are the best traveling buddies ever! The problem was I kept forgetting I was running too.  In fact I threw away my bib number and had to fish it out of the garbage last minute.  I was so exited to see how Doone did I could hardly handle it.

We meet up with Ross, Leslie, Doone and Rhett for dinner Friday night.  It was so fun talking about the race the next day and planning how we would run it.  When I started doing the math I found out I was going to have to run this race at close to a pr pace so that I could stay ahead of Doone and see her come in.  If I ran it a slow long run pace she would pass me.  Then right before Teena and I went to bed Teena looked up the winning time in my age group last year.  It was 1:55:XX  I thought I had a 1:53 in me, so I thought cool I could walk away with hardware!

Larry drove me to the start of the race.  There I met up with Rhett and Leslie and waited for Teena to pass.  She looked so cute...I am not sure how she could look that cute after 13.1 hard miles!

Anyway then we started I think I lined up too close to the start and the first few miles were a little fast but they felt good.  Three miles in I caught up to what I thought was my main competition, I asked her age (yes I am that competitive!) she said she was 42 and when I heard she was not in my age group I let her go ahead of me.  I felt like I pushed fairly hard during this race but I am not sore today at all so I guess I could have pushed more.

After the race I waited for Doone to come across the finish line.  I was so proud of her, even though she didn't BQ she came across with a huge smile on her face.  What a classy lady!

This course seemed hard and I am still not sure how I will do at St. George.  I think I have got some speed back after the hammy injury but I still feel like I was in much better shape last year.  I guess time will tell.

Splits: 8:00, 8:11, 8:36, 8:35, 8:33, 8:25, 8:28, 9:14, 9:00, 8:43, 8:42, 8:55, 8:51

I feel like I mentally broke down at the end I hope I can hold it together better in a month!
